The Scacial · Signature scalp treatment
See your scalp's health — don't just guess at it.
A dedicated scalp treatment built around before-and-after scope imaging, so you can see exactly what's happening at the follicle — and exactly what changes in a single appointment.
What it is
A dedicated scalp treatment built around before-and-after scope imaging — six magnified images across your scalp that show your follicles up close: where they emerge, whether anything is blocking them, and what's built up around them.
Most people care for the skin on their face without ever thinking about the skin on their scalp — but it's the same skin. The only difference is that your scalp is also the soil your hair grows from, so if you want a healthy crop, you need healthy ground to grow it in.
What the imaging reveals
Over time, scalps build up what I call "complex compounds" — a mix of sebum, styling product, dead skin, and (especially in Austin, where the water runs heavy with calcium and limestone) mineral sediment. It's the same buildup that clogs a showerhead every few months, just happening beneath the hair instead.
Under the scope, this often shows up as mineral buildup starting to oxidize and discolor right at the follicle, multiple hairs — sometimes even different colors — emerging from a single follicle, and buildup traveling up the hair shaft from the scalp. Seeing it is usually the first step toward actually fixing it.
Why scalp health comes first
Fighting hair loss takes a holistic approach — nutrition, sleep, stress, and any supplements you're taking all play a role. But none of it can do its job if your scalp is covered in that same complex-compound buildup.
Think of it like a garden: you can plant the best seeds and feed the soil everything it needs, but if the ground itself is smothered, nothing new can break through. Keeping your scalp's microbiome healthy is what lets everything else you're doing for your hair actually work.
The experience
- 01
Settle in
Once the imaging is done, the ritual begins. I dim the lights, close the curtains, and put on soft music — this is meant to feel like time with your esthetician, not a quick wash before a cut. Take off your shoes, wrap up in a blanket, and settle in.
- 02
The treatment
I start with a shampoo, then apply a treatment built around ascorbic acid — the most potent, most powerful antioxidant form of vitamin C — to stop mineral oxidation in its tracks, zinc to calm irritation, and kaolin clay to draw impurities out of the follicle. That stays on for about fifteen minutes while I massage, scrub, and work it into your scalp — easily the most relaxing fifteen minutes of your appointment.
- 03
The finish
After rinsing, I follow with an invigorating, minty scalp exfoliation, shampoo once more, and finish with a deep conditioning treatment chosen specifically for your hair's needs. Then we go back to the scope for your after photos, so you can see immediately just how much healthier your scalp looks. As a bonus, the treatment isn't limited to your scalp — it's worked through the length of your hair too, so you're clearing buildup from your strands as well, not just the scalp itself.
See the difference
These are real scope images from real Scacial appointments — not stock photos. You're looking at actual follicles, before treatment and after, in the same session.
